Ilinx

Music Trio

Weaving medieval music with 00's r'n'b and contemporary classical music

Ilinx protect, preserve, and enchant with the use of the human voice. Ilinx’ voice based compositions weave medieval church music together with 00’s r’n’b divas and contemporary classical music to create songs that are as futuristic as they are traditional.

Ilinx consists of Anna Sophie Mæhl, Laura Marie Madsen, and Amanda Appel, who, despite their diverse musical backgrounds and practices, have found each other in musical unity.

The foundation of the group’s work is a belief in the healing powers of the voice, and its almost magical ability to create connection between people. The vocal trio debuted in 2020 with ‘Memory’ through the label MoBC, run by singer and composer Katinka Fogh Vindelev, and was critically acclaimed both in Denmark and abroad.

On stage Ilinx creates an intimate space with an almost spiritual quality. Through a curious exploration of the voice as a storyteller as well as the primary material, the three singers merge into a symbiosis of equal parts roughness and refinement, strength and fragility.
